  • Happy Thanksgiving

Ashleigh Family 199.jpg  This year I have no photos of a great meal made by my Sweety, I am working this year.  So here is Gage with Harry Potter glasses on looking so cute on his Pa Pa’s lap.  I hope that your Thanksgiving is wonderful and even though I am working I have so much to be thankful for.  I am blessed with great friends, 6 amazing kids and 3 grandkids, great parents and a husband who still makes my heart flutter every single time I see him.  So I may be working today, but my blessings are still bounitful, I hope yours are too.

  • Childress

It really is a nice place to work and I have been enjoying the scenery around the unit.  Thursday there was a small group of mule deer eating in our watermelon patch and tomato garden. One buck, 3 doe and a yearling.  They could have cared less about me stalking them.  The cotton is being harvested by the local farmers too, I had to take a few pics while they still exist.

  • The kitchen remodel

Most people know that we (I use the term “we” loosely) have been remodeling our kitchen (again I use the word “our” loosely also, it really is John’s kitchen, not mine).  We started this mess in February not knowing at the time that I would be getting a promotion and living out of town during through the week and spending a lot of weekends still doing weddings and spending time with Gage.  So my poor sweety has really done all of this by himself.  Our house was built in 1929, and I had visions of remodeling when I bought it, but had no idea what that would entail.  Nothing is square, or level and you spend a lot of time fixing things you don’t see (new wiring, sub floor, etc) before you can work on things that you can actually see and appreciate.  Our next home will either be a new construction or a yacht.  No fixer uppers in our future.  We are not done, we still have molding to hang, trim to finish, and cabinet doors.  So….  here are some before and after pictures, remember the cabinet doors are gone, it will not stay that way and the before pictures we took after we started emptying cabinets, so it’s messy.  My sweety has worked very hard all by himself and it is really coming together, just wanted to share all of his hard work.

This is officially my last wedding and what a sweet couple to finish off with.  Hillary and Paul met through match.com and I spoke with her Mom last week and they are still very much in the honeymoon stage according to her.
