  • Check out my girl

Below was pulled directly from DeEdra's Blog, so check it out daily at www.xanga.com/fotobydeedra to see if you get any friends saying you sent them.  Also, dont get on there and say I sent you, I am not trying to get anything.  She rocks BTW!!

on the first day of Christmas my photographer gave to me...........

First, let me say I am so excited about my second 12 days of Christmas giveaways!  For the next 12 days I am going to have some type of giveaway on this blog (so check back often) and on Christmas Day I will have the Christmas Card contest with all the cards I have created for you this year.  I appreciate all of you so much and I just want to thank you for reading this silly thing, allowing me to take pictures of you and your beautiful families, and I truly believe that giving is better than receiving!  Before I tell you what the deal-e-o is for today, please remember that today (December 12th) is the deadline for Christmas orders.  Orders after today will have a $35 drop ship/rush fee applied to the total.  Thank you for understanding that it has been the busiest Christmas Season we have had so far (thanks to you again) and I have done zero shopping, my cards are in a pile on the floor by the desk I am sitting at, and my housekeeper is on vacation!  Ramble, ramble, ramble......now get to the prize lady!

Today I am giving away a $100 gift certificate.  What you have to do to win it....tell all your friends about this blog (www.xanga.com/fotobydeedra) and the giveaways.  Then your friends need to email me at fotobydeedra@aol.com and tell me who told them about it.  Yes, I am living on referrals these days (thank you again).  I don't advertise a whole lot (thanks to this silly little blog).  I am not even in the phone book anymore (sorry, it wasn't worth the 100s of dollars for those 2 phone calls a year).  So, good luck, God Bless and have a great Friday and weekend.

  • Toy Run

Today John and I rode in the Wichita Falls toy run.  This was our first year to ride in it, and even though it was a pretty day, it was COLD on that bike.  Here are a few from the day...

This is a friend from work, we tend to see him at bike events too...

  • American History is done!!!

Yippeee....  I have finished my class and will be getting busy on pictures and Christmas decorations.  This is the first year that I do not have the house decorated the first weekend after Thanksgiving.  I feel better now that I have that the biggest obstacle out of the way, hopefully there will be some pictures of a tree on here soon.

  • The Missy Project

    shackshrtbanner

I just finished reading The Shack by Wm. Paul Young.  If you only read one book this year, make it this one.  DeEdra asked me to read it so we could talk about it together and I normally read books pretty quick, but in between my American history, editing pictures and doing things around the house, it took me a little longer than normal to read it.  I will be reading it again as soon as my class is finished and I am caught up on my work around here.  So why am I blogging it?  Because the Missy Project.  In the acknowledgement it states if you have a website or blog consider sharing a bit about the book and recommend that it is read....  so here it is.  The book is about relationships; relationships that are formed through family, friends and God.  It is also about  judgement, redemption and forgiveness.  It is beautifully written and I felt myself getting answers to questions I have often wondered about...  like; where is God when tragedy happens?  I carried the book with me when I went to my parents when my Dad had is surgery this month.  More people stopped me and said how much they loved the book.  We have talked about it at work and I have a whole list of people waiting to read mine now that I have finished it.  I got mine at Wal-Mart for about 10 bucks....  this is the season for gift giving, and this book truly is a gift, one that will have many "outbound ripples".   Read a preview at www.theshackbook.com

I cannot get over how much these two look a like....  and I have to say they are gorgeous.  Dana (Mom) and Kaylee spent some time with me at the falls yesterday and I have to say that little girl can work a camera.  She is just beautiful and loves her Mommy!

  • All work and no play makes Sean a dull boy

Today we spent the part of the day getting some of the yard work done.  The leaves are really falling now and the pecan trees have been busy filling our yard with dead leaves.  Although the trees are still dropping them we decided that we needed to at least try to get a handle on it.  Even though he is growing up fast, there is still a lot of "boy" in Sean.  He helped out with the raking....  but just could not resist the leaf pile...
